It has taken me a long time to finally decide to take the plunge and start selling things that I make. I decided that the best thing to do would be to start small.
Cue the baby wipes!
The really exciting thing about these baby wipes is not that they are organic cotton, it's that they are made with cotton that is grown in the United States. This cotton was grown in Texas and knitted in South Carolina.
It is truly some of the nicest fabric I have ever worked with if not the nicest fabric I have ever worked with. When I opened the package I was absolutely gobsmacked buy the plush, thick loops in this terry cloth. I honestly thought there had been some mistake and I contacted the company to make sure I did receive the right stuff. It looked so amazing in person that their photos did it no justice!
I don't think I need to go into detail about the benefits of supporting local businesses and businesses within the United States. But, I do have to tell you that is very comforting knowing that this fabric that I'm using on my baby was not made in a sweatshop somewhere. To my family that aspect may be even more important than the chemical-free aspect of organic fabric.
So far in using them as baby wipes I have been absolutely amazed that I only ever need one where I may have used 3 or more disposable baby wipes. And of course like disposable baby wipes they're not just used to wipe bottoms in my house, they're used for just about everything!
While doing the research into the products currently available on the market I was astounded to find that almost all of the organic cloth baby wipes available are made in China. Additionally quite a few of those (even some of the most popular ones) don't explain all of the things that go into them namely the dye that is used.

Happy wiping!
