Monster virus.

So things have ground to a halt here.  .  Baby has a monster virus that has triggered multiple secondary infections.  This is the first time she has ever been on antibiotics and now she is on two! .  So we're hunkering down, and resting.  Will pick back up when were better.

Late night projects

Oh my gosh... I think I just made a ring sling!  😨.  Not sure yet as the baby is sound asleep but it looks like a ring sling!  Will post photos of it in action tomorrow!  If it doesn't work though I'm going to pretend this never happened.

Hoop after hoop after hoop

You would think in this day and age everyone knows that you shouldn't let babies play with plastic bags right?  I would hope so anyway.  But regardless, in order to send products intended for use by or around children they must be packaged with a suffocation warning about the bag that they come in...

A small thing I know but still...

Another unanticipated hoop that I found out today is that in order to sell with Fulfillment By Amazon (FBA) I need a UPC or ISBN code...

So I bought some UPC codes.  Even though the instructions repeatedly tell you to make sure to cover the UPC codes with the amazon codes you are given for FBA items... Can you say REDUNDANT?

Of course then when I went to prep the shipment for amazon the printer stopped working and I have no way to print codes or shipping labels (sigh)

I knew it would be complicated, but I just didn't realize how much time it would take to sort it all out.

My next project?

Hmm... is my next project already taking shape? It is most certainly thicker then my current diaper inserts... I will let you know!

P.s. As I was making this the baby peed on the floor behind me... and then started dancing in it. 😑

Visiting Daddy

One of the things I love most about being a stay-at-home mom it's the fact that I don't have to be at home. It's the freedom to go out during the day and do things with my daughter that I wouldn't necessarily be able to do if I weren't at "home" full-time.

Like for instance going to visit daddy at the farm!

Poor daddy he gets off his tractor to say hello to us only to have to go right to work changing a diaper.

The summer squash is nearly ready! Yum yum!

Starting small

It has taken me a long time to finally decide to take the plunge and start selling things that I make. I decided that the best thing to do would be to start small.

Cue the baby wipes!

The really exciting thing about these baby wipes is not that they are organic cotton, it's that they are made with cotton that is grown in the United States. This cotton was grown in Texas and knitted in South Carolina.

It is truly some of the nicest fabric I have ever worked with if not the nicest fabric I have ever worked with. When I opened the package I was absolutely gobsmacked buy the plush, thick loops in this terry cloth. I honestly thought there had been some mistake and I contacted the company to make sure I did receive the right stuff.  It looked so amazing in person that their photos did it no justice!

I don't think I need to go into detail about the benefits of supporting local businesses and businesses within the United States. But, I do have to tell you that is very comforting knowing that this fabric that I'm using on my baby was not made in a sweatshop somewhere. To my family that aspect may be even more important than the chemical-free aspect of organic fabric.

So far in using them as baby wipes I have been absolutely amazed that I only ever need one where I may have used 3 or more disposable baby wipes. And of course like disposable baby wipes they're not just used to wipe bottoms in my house, they're used for just about everything!

While doing the research into the products currently available on the market I was astounded to find that almost all of the organic cloth baby wipes available are made in China. Additionally quite a few of those (even some of the most popular ones) don't explain all of the things that go into them namely the dye that is used.

If you're interested in checking out my listing head on over to my Etsy page.
Happy wiping!
